Of course there are many case where a person may get 1 of 2 of the symptoms of gluten intolerance in their life. However it is important to note that it is when these symptoms are persistent that there is an actual problem. If you show 1 of more of these symptoms and it is persistent you should see your doctor and get tested for celiac disease.

Stomach Pain

One of the most common symptoms of gluten intolerance is stomach pain. This may be caused by bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation. Some people unfortunately have more than one at the same time. This can cause more problems than just pain because your body may not be absorbing the proper amount of minerals and vitamins.

Mood Swings

Gluten intolerance can also be very similar to that time of the month for ladies. You may become anxious, irritable or just down right angry. If this persists and it is not that time of the month you may be gluten intolerant.

Headaches are the worst, and if it’s a migraine it is just terrible. If you experience this soon after eating a gluten product you may want to get checked out. Be sure to check the product information to see if the food you have ingested contains gluten.

Keratosis Pilaris

Even though Keratosis Pilaris is harmless it can be embarrassing for anyone. If you notice that there are small hard bumps on your skin persistently this may be the leading cause. Keratosis Pilaris will usually show on your arms, buttocks and thighs. Sometimes but not all there will also be redness and swelling.

Unfortunately like many of the other symptoms, women are more susceptible to Fibromyalgia and it effects 4% of the population of the United States. That’s 12,857 680! You are not alone on this one. Symptoms of Fibromyalgia include: pain in tendons, ligaments and muscles.

Chronic Fatigue

Are you always tired? You got your 8 hours but you always feel tired. It’s frustrating knowing you slept for so long and you still feel like you only slept 6 or less. This can be an early sign of gluten intolerance. This happens because your body is working overtime while you sleep attempting to fight off the gluten proteins.

  1. By the end of October I would have been on a Gluten Free Diet for three months, now being the end of September I am positive gluten had a lot to do with my depression over forty five years also much involved with my constant bowel problems since early age and not surprised two years ago I had an operation for a twisted bowel. I suspect it may have had much to do with other health issues e.g. dizziness when say bending and would not be at all surprised it was why I have had tinnitus for many years. So I say at least give it a try going gluten free or even have the blood test which is expensive £250 approx. which will certainly tel you if you are gluten effected.
